Pre Season
The Vortex team have been very busy since winning the 2007
Championships.
This activity has included product testing and development of
new equipment, some of which can be found in our on-line shop
very soon.
Even though there are strict one-design rules for the Zapcat
class concerning the hull and engines, additional items such
as damper systems can be personalised and the guys have been
testing all sorts of designs for the up-coming season.
We have also been testing lighter scratch resistant URBAN
helmets and will be offering these as an alternative to the
excellent Nitro helmets.
Despite Christmas excesses – the team have been out on the
water a few times and their fitness is looking pretty good so
not too many pounds gained!
The pre season party on the 16th February will be a
great chance to meet up with old friends and rivals as well as
meet new teams. The start of a new season’s racing always has
that new school year feel to it with some old faces absent and
many new eager ones.
Hopefully a few more will have come through our “Try before
you Buy” sessions on 23rd February and the 15th
March, in time for the pre season race, engine and surf
clinics.
We are looking forward to four days in the Isle of Skye in
April for the Drambuie Pursuit and hopefully the weather will
be as glorious as last year, it is a fun event, hard work but
extremely enjoyable and we really appreciate the help of many
of our race team friends who also participate.
Sitting at a desk on a very windy wet and cold day in January
it is very easy to think forward to warm, sunny beaches, great
racing only five months away!
