Q.         How can I try a Zapcat?

A.         Either book into one of our Experience Days (www.vortex-events.com) or find us at one of the shows and exhibitions we attend or call and book a test drive if interested in racing.

Q.         I have bought a second-hand ex-race boat; I want to buy some safety kit can you supply this?

A.         Yes, we have many items online in the store and other items coming online that may not be listed yet, so give us a call to find out more.

Q.         Do you provide any training?

A.         We work with local RYA approved centres to provide recognised courses and our race team also provide additional race training programmes.

Q.         I have secured a sponsor for my team but I want to reward them with an event for their staff can you help?

A.         We can run a Zapcat only event or our Ultimate Powerboat Day using Honda 4 stroke's as well or we can run a VIP Racing day at one of the Championship venues.  Please call for further information.

Q.         One of my friends has a second-hand hull called a Ceasar can I use this?

A.         Unfortunately this cannot be raced in the Zapcat series; it has to be a Gemini Z10 to qualify.

Q.         My daughter/son will be 16 in May can she race with me?

A.         Providing their co-pilot or pilot is over 18 at each event then they can race.

Q.         How much is a race licence for the season or an event?

A.         If you have never raced, this year it is free of charge.  If you have raced, then the full season licence is £251.00 or a temporary licence for 2 events maximum is £60.00 per weekend event.

Q.         Do you have to be light and fit to succeed?

A.         Fitness helps a great deal especially in the surf, being light does not always help.  Success is actually down to preparation, set up, hours in the boat, practice in varying conditions, awareness, knowledge of rules  and those other racers’ qualities such as will to win, nerve and controlled aggression.

Q.         Where can I see a Zapcat race and how many boats race?

A.         Usually around 40 + Zapcats will race at different venues throughout the UK please take a look at the race calendar for the next race or your nearest event.

Q.         Can my company sponsor a boat, a team or an event?

A.         Sponsorship is always welcomed and we have some great packages for our sponsors.
